425-acre mixed-use development set to break ground in northeast Austin

EastVillage will be located on Parmer Lane across from Austin's Samsung plant.

AUSTIN, Texas — Another new mixed-use development is set to transform northeast Austin – but it won't be completed for a while.

EastVillage will be located on Parmer Lane across from Austin's Samsung plant. The development's website calls it an "anchor to the Tech Ridge corridor," which also includes Dell, General Motors, 3M and other tech start-ups.

The $1 billion project will have more than 2,000 single and multi-family homes, three hotels, 37,000 square feet of grocery space, a 38,000-square-foot movie theater, a 1.4-acre "village green," a 150-acre naturally wooded preserve and more.

"The blend of urban density, expansive parkland, single and multi-family residential options and all of the conveniences that come with living close to great retail, food and entertainment eliminate the terms, 'MoPac traffic' and 'I-35 congestion' from EastVillage residential vocabulary," the development's website states.

According to Community Impact, the 435-acre development is set to break ground early this month. It isn't set to be completed until 2028.
