SAN ANTONIO — Grant Lopez, the 2019 chairman of San Antonio Board of Realtors, said San Antonio's housing market is in high demand.
"Even if you stretch out to the suburban areas, you're still seeing homes that are selling very quickly and for top-dollar," Lopez said, "because there is so much demand for housing in San Antonio right now."
He said on average a home will stay on the market for less than two months.
Now, homeowners have more than options when choosing how to sell their home.
In September, Zillow launched Zillow Offers in San Antonio, which allows people to get a cash offer on their home by selling online. It is just one of several ibuyer models that give people the option of selling their home without the hassle of showing their house.
"They don't have to worry about some of the problems that comes along with the sell, getting the home ready, open houses, they don't have to worry about all the showings." said Levi Rodgers, San Antonio broker partner. "It takes that all away; Zillow will come in pay market rate for the home and allow the homeowner to get to the next step."
Rodgers said as a retired veteran he knows military families often have to relocate quickly and this brings another viable option.
"It took me less than a minute on the app," Rodgers said. "I gave them the preliminary information and then in 48 hours I'll have a cash offer on my home."
Lopez said whether you choose the traditional way of selling a home or going online, explore your options and consult with an expert.
"I would call it more of a convenience factor option," Lopez said.
