Office space offers 'female focused coworking' in San Antonio

In one office, there are a range of businesses. On a typical day, that could include real estate, photography, human resources and marketing sitting side by side working on their own projects.

Co-working spaces are on the rise, and one geared toward women is now open in San Antonio. The Annex offers office amenities with a feminine touch in a space meant to foster community.

"A place where women business owners or women who are working remotely can be together in the trenches of business life," Annex owner Carrie Hill said.

In one office, there are a range of businesses. On a typical day, that could include real estate, photography, human resources and marketing sitting side by side working on their own projects.

"I wanted a place that made women feel safe and comfortable," Hill said. "We're not anti-men; men can come here any time they want, I just wanted to focus specifically on women."

For $175 a month, members get space to work, wi-fi, snacks, a conference room and community. That's something social media management business owner Jen McKee says is critical to growing as an entrepreneur.

"Incredibly helpful in my journey- I couldn't be here without the connections that I made," McKee said.
