If you've ever wanted to own a vintage car, you'll have a unique opportunity this weekend.
Dick's Classic Garage stood alongside I-35 in San Marcos for 10 years. With the passing of owner Richard Burdick last year, management decided to close the museum and auction off the cars. The money will be used for grants and scholarships.
The museum doors closed in December. While most of the vintage cars will be sold at specialty auctions out-of-state, there is a chance for local buyers to get behind the wheel of a few of the vehicles.
An auction in San Marcos Saturday, features fourteen vintage cars, a modern truck and hundreds of pieces of memorabilia. Pedal cars, antique bicycles and road signs make up the majority of the sale items.
Shoppers can browse the items online and even place a bid. Buyers are encouraged to show up in person on Saturday.
The auction will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the museum’s former location: 120 Stagecoach Trail, San Marcos, TX 78666.
The public is invited to preview the sale items Friday between Noon and 6 p.m.
