SAN ANTONIO — A last-minute flight is expensive and a drive to Houston can kill a few hours of the day. Motorcoach service Vonlane hopes to offer something different: an $89 ride with luxury amenities on-board.
"It is luxury in a world that doesn’t offer us much luxury anymore, especially in the travel space," Vonlane CEO Alex Danza said.
Vonlane has half the seats as many motor coaches its size, meaning more room for riders to stretch out their legs. Additionally, the service offers entertainment, WiFi, work spaces, snacks, and a way to both work and relax.
"Four people with four laptops here for three hours with their laptops open and they are working the whole time, usually about 15 minutes from our destinations the laptops go down, and they're talking and exchanging business cards," Danza said. "So they make connections here too."
Luxury motorcoach services are popping up across the nation as a transportation alternative. In addition to its San Antonio-to-Houston route, Vonlane offers travel options between Dallas, Austin, Houston and Forth Worth.
