SAN ANTONIO — The Magik Theatre is offering any furloughed government employee up to four free tickets to the opening weekend of Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat.

Anyone participating in the offer can pick up the tickets in person at the box office at 420 South Alamo Street. The shows during opening weekend are February 1 at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, February 2 at 2 p.m. or Sunday, February 3 at 2 p.m.

“We want to recognize all the hard work federal employees put in and give them a chance to relax and enjoy a fun experience with their families without worrying about the cost of tickets during the government shutdown,” says Marketing Manager, Megan Coy Schwamb. “Providing an hour of laughter and fun is the least we can do to show support.”

The stage production of Cat in the Hat is a word-for-word adaptation of the classic tale featuring Sally, her brother and the infamous Cat.

For all others, tickets start at $15 with discounts available for students, seniors, military and educators.
