11-year-old 'Girl boss' creates her own unique company | Made in SA

SAN ANTONIO — Most young girls spend their time playing with dolls or painting their nails.

But Elanor Johnson also "plays" with fabric scraps.

She's a girl boss inspired by her stepmom, Lauren Gonzalez.

"I guess it was just something I thought was fun to make. And also kind of easy," Coin Purses Galore, owner, Elanor Johnson said.

"Elanor is just a really quick learner so she's very fast," Lauren Gonzalez said.

She finds a peace when sitting at her machine.

"It's fun. I like when you are doing it when you are hearing the machine go... it is soothing and it's  fun to do it, because you get to see all the fun things you can make out of it," Johnson said.

Gonzalez is happy to be the inspiration behind Elanor's journey into entrepreneurship.

"It's very empowering to figure something out: make it, see it, sell it," Gonzalez said. "I'm happy to pass that along."

And this young "boss babe" has a positive message for future business owners.

"You just really need the idea, the things to do it, and you can finish it, and you can probably make a big impact," Johnson said.
