SAN ANTONIO — Tejano music fans filled the Tobin Center for a tribute performance honoring Emilio Navaira and his legacy Thursday night.
Emilio's sons, Diego and Emilio Navaira IV, spoke exclusively with KENS5 ahead of the special dedication. They said their father wanted to play one last time with the San Antonio Symphony before he passed away in 2016.
So, they brought that last dream to life, playing alongside their father's original band and the San Antonio Symphony in the HEB Performance Hall.
Fans sang along to Emilio Navaira's greatest hits.
His sons have been on tour with their group The Last Bandoleros. They now reside in Nashville, where they focus on writing and producing music.
