The Neighborhood Eats Battle of Burgers yielded some of the heftiest hamburgers in South Texas.

SAN ANTONIO -There is no shortage of colossally creative burgers for those who want the whole beef and nothing but the beef.

The Neighborhood Eats Battle of Burgers yielded some of the heftiest hamburgers in South Texas.

64 burger restaurants were suggested by viewers via social media for Neighborhood Eats to consider in a Battle of the Burgers. Viewers vote on their favorite restaurants from the KENS 5 Burger Bracket.

Neighborhood Eats reporter Marvin Hurst broke those suggestions down into the following categories: Classic (Best classic burger), Classified beef (Hidden gem burger), Off the chains (Best chain burger) and Xtreme Burger (Beefy creative burger concoction).

Hurst will select a Taster's Choice award in each category. Meantime, viewer's will make the people's choice for best burger in South Texas.

12 burger joints make up a unique group of contestants for Xtreme burger: Armadillos Texas Style Burgers, The Lord's Kitchen, Monster Burgers, Tycoon Flats, Chunky's Burgers & More, Big Lou's Burgers & BBQ, Mad Mack's Burger Co., The Boiler House, 4 Way Bar & Grill, Mark's Outing, Con Safos and Everybody Loves Raymonds.

Neighborhood Eats stopped by the Pearl for a taste test at The Boiler House. The restaurant's brunch menu boasts the David Lee Roth Krispy Kreme Burger: Caramelized onions, smoked bacon, a fried egg, lemon chive aioli on a custom blended beef patty. The bun is a Krispy Kreme doughnut with powdered sugar. The burger also comes with maple syrup. Yep, that's a whole bunch of things going on for one burger. The culinary collaboration works!

Our Xtreme burger search hit Monster Burgers at 5201 S. Flores St. Juan Trevino and his wife have been in business for nearly eight years. The business' name and fare are inspired by the monster tales Trevino's mother told him as a child.

Where else can you go in San Antonio to order a Dracula, Chupacabra, a Big Foot, a ghost and a Godzilla?

Trevino has done more than establish his business as a novelty burger stop. He really works on creativity, taste and an unforgettable eating experience.

He prepared a monster of a taste test for Neighborhood Eats. Some of the items were a little more extreme than others like the newly rolled out chorizo and cheeseburger called 'The Sinister.' Imagine a burger in a lava flow mozzarella cheese. It's a good eat!

The same can be said about his Chamuco Burger and Chamuco fries that drip with cheese is covered with hot Cheetos. Good!

The popular Krueger burger (Part burger part pepperoni cheese pizza), the 5-0 burger (doughnut based burger), the pancake burger (Comes with sausage, cheese, and syrup) and the Blueberry burger (beef, bacon and cheese on a blueberry muffin) were delicious to Neighborhood Eats.

We can't forget his La Llorona burger which is beef patty crowned with grilled onions, grilled jalapenos, avocado and the trimmings. Fantastic!

Everybody Loves Raymonds has always been known for noteworthy burgers. Raymond Diaz whipped up a 5, 6 and 7-inch burgers for Neighborhood Eats.

The breakfast burger with hash browns, bacon and an egg was the five-inch offering. It's a great breakfast/brunch lover burger. Good stuff!

Neighborhood Eats really took a liking to his bacon cheddar brisket burger. Wait until you try to lift this thing. ¡Qué rico!

Diaz finished the taste test off with the huge Mexican burger: 7-inch beef patty, ham, bacon, avocado, chicharrones, queso fesco, and pico. Delicious!
