SAN ANTONIO — Grab your favorite sparkly heels, throw on some MAC Selena Matte Lipstick, and get ready to 'Baila Esta Cumbia' tonight!
The Rusticis dedicating this Friday night, March 1, to two iconic Latina singers with their "Latin Divas: Selena vs J-Lo" dance party.
The event, which kicks off at 8 p.m., promises a playlist inspired by the late Queen of Tejano and the multi-talented artist who went on to portray Selena Quintanilla in the 1997 film Selena.
The film, which honored Selena Quintanilla and her music career, brought another Latina artist, Jennifer Lopez, into the spotlight. Since the film's release, J-Lo has gone on to experience success across a range of industries, including music, acting, fashion, and producing.
'Jenny from the Block' will be hitting the touring circuit once more and making a return to the Alamo City this summer with her "It's My Party: The Live Celebration" Tour.
And while it's been 24 years since Selena's passing, her legacy lives on. Earlier this week, country singer and Texas native Kacey Musgraves surprised RodeoHouston fans with a rendition of 'Como La Flor.'
If you missed the performance, no worries. If you can't wait to see J-Lo until this summer, no biggie. Tonight, you can bust out your best bustier and practice "the washing machine" while dancing to the Latin Divas' greatest hits.
