Teresa Velasco is a meteorologist/digital content producer with KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas. She is also a third-generation San Antonian who loves Fiesta and cheering on the Spurs!
While taking an environmental science class at Incarnate Word High School, she decided to pursue a Broadcast Meteorology degree at Incarnate Word University, where she graduated in May 2013.
Teresa also holds a Master’s degree in Communication from UTSA, graduating in May 2016.
She then decided she wanted to be an on-camera meteorologist and worked as the Morning/Noon Meteorologist at KGNS News in Laredo. During her year there, she experienced forecasting during Hurricane Harvey in 2017. She also went live at a local school during the solar eclipse.
Before her time at KENS 5, Teresa worked at the San Antonio Express News as a Digital Content Producer, where she learned how to write engaging weather stories that included weekly forecasts and live updates during severe weather for the San Antonio area.
When Teresa is not spending time with loved ones, exploring local businesses or growing her photography skills, she stays active on important weather updates to help KENS 5's team of meteorologists with live streams and creating weather stories with updated forecast.
