David Lynch is an Executive Digital Producer for KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas, where he helps manage the station's online project.
David joined KENS 5 in October 2018 by way of Albuquerque, where he worked as a digital producer for KOB 4 after graduating from the University of New Mexico.
San Antonio is the latest stop for David, who, after being born in Mexico, hopped around to several places while growing up, including stops in Saudi Arabia and China. Those early traveling experiences fostered a natural sense of curiosity that later manifested in an interest in journalism.
At UNM, David worked for three years at the university’s daily newspaper, The Daily Lobo, covering everything from campus protests to student lifestyle to undergraduate government before serving as the paper’s editor-in-chief his senior year. His work was also published in several local papers, including the Albuquerque Journal.
As a member of KOB 4’s digital team, he helped to kick-start and produce Hubbard Broadcasting’s first news podcasting effort — a multi-part, in-depth series on the history of priest abuse in the state and its role as an epicenter of a national crisis.
In addition to covering breaking news for KENS5.com, David writes about South Texas arts and culture, and is a Critics Choice Association-affiliated film critic. Click here to see David's Screen Test movie reviews.
David spends his free time exploring the Alamo City and the Lone Star State while chowing down on local barbecue. When not wearing his explorer hat, he can be found running, podcast-binging and reading.
