Meet the KENS 5 Team: Alan Kozeluh

Visual Storyteller Journalist

Alan Kozeluh is a visual storyteller journalist for KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas. He joined KENS 5 in April 2018, just in time for Fiesta!

He grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. Prior to pursuing a career in news, Alan worked a wide variety of jobs, from HVAC technician to portrait photographer to cake decorator.

In school, Alan pulled double duty as a reporter and videographer with the campus newspaper as well as anchoring and reporting for the campus TV station. He attended Northern Illinois University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism with a minor in political science.

Alan also has a Master's degree in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois and has covered legislative politics in two states.

Alan’s first job in news was as a photojournalist for WMTV Channel 15 in Madison, Wisconsin, where he briefly had his own segment dubbed “Where in Wisconsin,” in which he explored various oddities and attractions throughout southern Wisconsin.

Alan is an avid film fan and a bit of a beer snob, so during his free time you can find him relaxing on the couch with his wife watching a Coen brothers movie with a nice malty amber lager. Otherwise, he enjoys singing karaoke or heading out with his camera and exploring all the Alamo City has to offer.

Alan loves to find new and inventive ways to tell stories with pictures and sounds. If you can think of a story you’d like him to tell, reach out to him using the links below.
