Jessica Coombs is the morning traffic anchor and a multimedia journalist at KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas.
What started as a determination to make life easier for others is now a lifelong passion centered on creating positive change.
A Utah native, Jessica’s love of storytelling grew throughout her time working as an anchor, reporter and producer at WSAV in Savannah, NY1 in New York City, and KTVX in Salt Lake City. From leading severe weather coverage in the southeast to covering the Tony Awards on the Red Carpet, Jessica’s focus on community has led her to cities across the globe.
As a professional pianist and music teacher for nearly 20 years, Jessica has performed around the world, including at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
Jessica graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with degrees in broadcast journalism and music. In addition to several Mark of Excellence awards, she was named the Broadcast Education Association’s Best News Anchor and received three Student Production Emmy nominations.
Her advocacy for young people led her to represent the state of Utah nationally as Miss Utah’s Outstanding Teen, where she worked with thousands of teens to help them pursue their aspirations.
Always an avid storyteller, Jessica’s life was shaped by stories, and she wants to help you tell yours. She believes life is made great by the company you keep, and she cannot think of a better place to call home than the Alamo City, whose focus on what it means to be a community is more than just words.
With a love for traveling, cinema, cooking, exploring the outdoors and capturing the good moments of life, Jessica would love any and all recommendations!
