SAN ANTONIO — Victoria De Leon is a reporter and multi-skilled journalist for KENS 5 in San Antonio, Texas.
She joined KENS 5 in January 2022 and is originally from Houston. Victoria is excited to be back closer to family and tell stories at the station that sparked her passion for journalism.
In 2019, Victoria interned for KENS 5's "Great Day SA" program before taking a role as an associate producer. A year later, she started reporting in Beaumont, Texas, where she covered Hurricane Laura and other major weather events at KBMT.
More recently, Victoria was the Race & Culture Journalist at KENS 5's sister station, KUSA in Denver, Colorado.
Victoria is passionate about amplifying stories and voices of BIPOC and other historically marginalized communities. She also is a fluent speaker in Spanish.
One of her most rewarding stories was about a Denver theatre that brings real life stories about the struggles and successes of a thriving Chicano community to the stage. Another was about a new Colorado law that gave overtime, meal breaks, and other protection rights to all farm workers in the state.
During her free time, Victoria enjoys exploring the city with her husband and 3-year-old chihuahua.
Victoria is looking forward to connecting with people in the San Antonio community and telling their stories.
