A Mother's Soul Divine

Surviving Spirit

On August 29, 2008, an unwelcomed visitor invaded my mom's body. On Christmas Eve 2008, my mother Mary Keno Washington lost her battle with breast cancer. Though our bodies were worn and our souls shattered, we stand vigilant against the disease and in support of our mother, grandmother, and friend. Nearly 2 years later, I now find myself taking daily radiation treatments in hopes to not fall victim to same disease. But it is her spirit which eternally steers our vessel and watches over our voyages. So as I embark upon my medical journey(s), I do so with honor, knowing that my mother and the Lord stand hand in hand watching over me.
