My son and I were facebooking for what must've been an hour. Eyes strained I convinced him to go out and enjoy nature for a little while. Out of nowhere this hawk swoops down about a yard in front of us (I'm thinking the hawk thought we were trying to get his food he'd been scouting) and snatches this squirrel in his claws. It sat on the fence for at least 15 min. (thats when my son ran and grabbed the camera). It sat so still and confident. It was a lucky day in many ways, too often we neglect teaching our kids about the beautiful and captivating side of nature.
