Winter Is Here: Hill Country bracing for possible snow

It's been several years since it's been this cold this year, according to KENS 5 meteorologist Bill Taylor.

On Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, several counties in the Hill Country will have a rain and snow mix with many parts possibly seeing all snow.

It should melt on contact because the freezing temperatures won't be sustained.

The north winds will stay breezy into Wednesday night as well, so no break from the wind as temperatures drop.

There's a 100 percent chance of rain on Wednesday as it's going to be wet and cold for the next couple of days.

Around 10 p.m. Wednesday is when sleet and snow could start appearing in Fredericksburg and Kerrville. It may even reach as far south as Boerne.

And those clouds will stay in the area until Friday.

Temperatures will barely get out of the 30s on Wednesday and barely get out of the 40s on Thursday before the sun returns on Friday leading into a beautiful weekend.
