Winter storm warning issued for Central Texas through Tuesday

Meteorologist Paul Mireles has your full forecast which calls for a 70% chance of freezing precipitation on Tuesday.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Bexar County and surrounding areas Tuesday through 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, there's a strong chance of a mix of freezing rain, sleet, and even light snow in certain parts of Central Texas including Bexar County and surrounding counties.

The areas of concern are north, east, and west of Bexar County as the line drawn by the National Weather Service goes right through San Antonio and areas south of the city aren’t expected to be impacted by the severe weather.

Temperatures will drop to the mid-20s to low 30s by Tuesday afternoon.

The biggest chances for light snow are in the Hill Country, Central Texas, and portions of the Rio Grande north of Del Rio.

Be sure to be aware of traffic conditions as road closures and accidents are expected to affect travel that day.
