Kerrville residents preparing for snow

The Hill Country is preparing for snow tonight and everyone is excited.

It’s nearly a week into December but San Antonio and surrounding areas haven’t seen winter-like weather until Wednesday.

The drop in temperature has some Hill Country locals excited that they’ll finally see some snow.

But the sudden drop in temperature and rainy road conditions mean that the streets are more prone to accidents.

“I live on a hill and we did have three cars slide into each other one year,” resident Sharon Walling recalled.

Despite the wet road conditions and possible school and business closings, residents are looking forward to a white Christmas.

“One year it snowed in the 80’s,” Walling said. “It was about three feet deep and it was beautiful.”

TxDOT says that they’ve pre-treated Kendall and Kerr County roads. They say that Bexar County won’t freeze on Wednesday night and they can’t pre-treat roads in rainy conditions anyway.
