A local pastor says she beat cancer by turning to God for healing. Dr. Diana Hardy has written a book in hope of inspiring others to reach out to God when dealing with life-threatening disease.

Pastor Hardy says she has a lot to be thankful for these days: her budding congregation, her family and her health.
“I’m healthy and I’m happy,” said Hardy.
But just 10 years ago, her life was turned upside down when a doctor gave her the devastating news: At only 39 years old, she had developed colon cancer.

The San Antonio pastor says she immediately heard another voice tell she didn’t have cancer.
“At first I thought it was another doctor. Then I know it was God. And I told the doctor I don’t have cancer," Hardy recalled.
Hardy says she argued with the doctor and then chose to believe God but she went ahead 5 days later and had surgery to remove the tumor and about a foot of her colon.
A week later she had a second biopsy and the doctors told her they couldn’t find any cancer.
Hardy says she beat cancer because she chose to believe God’s words.
She says from the time she was diagnosed until she got the results of the second biopsy, which was roughly a two-week period, she prayed and recited healing scriptures every minute of the day.
“I’m convinced today I wouldn’t be here had I believed the doctor’s report than what God told me,” she said.
Despite knowing there may be skeptics who question her story, she wrote a book about her experience.
“I know there are always going to be critics," Hardy said. "I know there will always be people who say it didn’t happen. Non-believers.”
Hardy says she hopes the book will inspire others to have faith and believe in God and pray for his healing.
“I know that he did it for me," she said. "He will do it for them.”
