Holiday travelers make their way through S.A. Int'l Airport

Holiday travel at San Antonio International

SAN ANTONIO -- Guitar strums eased travelers as they checked into the San Antonio International Airport on Wednesday.

"Everything's been great. We've got lots of help. I guess there's some advantages of being old,” Katie Miller said jokingly.

"Not bad, not bad. I let my husband do everything. The lines are pretty short," Lottie Moon said as she was ready to board a flight to New York City. "To the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade."

Others headed west. According to Trip Advisor, which surveyed 5,000 people, 62 percent of travelers said that they would be driving to their loved ones. Maybe that was why, around noon on Wednesday, there was hardly anyone in security lines at San Antonio’s airport.

"It's a lot nicer than other airports in the U.S.," said Davis Bostain from Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Early morning travelers did see a rush, but they came prepared.

"We planned for this: came in a couple of hours early, no stress, low stress, and it was actually pretty good," Daniel Santander said.

Trip Advisor said to be prepared though if you travel on Thanksgiving Day. Their survey revealed that 32 percent of people are traveling on Thursday.
