5. Commuters gear up for Bike to Work Day


Across the nation, workers will hop on the bicycles for Bike to Work Day. Of the the 51 largest U.S. cities, 43 held Bike to Work Day events in 2010, according to the League of American Bicyclists. The number of people who commute to work by bicycle increased about 60% over the past decade, although bicyclists still account for fewer than 1% of all commuters.
