SAN ANTONIO -- Police were searching on Saturday for a man who shot another outside Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in downtown.

The shooting occurred in broad daylight outside the hospital around 1:45 p.m.

San Antonio police said the men got into a fight at Frio and West Houston. The fight then moved to outside the hospital, where one of the men pulled a handgun and shot the other man in the waist.

A passerby picked up the victim and dropped him off at Baptist Medical Center, which is also nearby.

Police said he was in stable condition.

The shooter allegedly got away in a white van. Police said they searched the area but were unable to locate him.
