SAN ANTONIO -- A male teacher at J.H. Wood Middle School is on paid administrative leave following allegations that he assaulted at least three female students.
A spokeswoman with the North East Independent School District confirmed the on-going investigation. She said there haven't been any criminal charges filed.
The teacher has not been officially identified.
The incident stemmed from a shoving match at the school, 14800 Judson Road, last Friday in which the teacher allegedly shoved the girls against the wall and verbally attacked them until he was red in the face.
School officials said it appears he was trying to break up a fight.
The girls reported the incident to a school counselor and their parents. one of the parents has filed a criminal complaint against the middle school teacher.
I don't put my hands on my daughter like that and I don't expect you to, said the parent who didn't want to be identified. So I don't think he should be teaching.
The incident was allegedly caught on camera.
Somebody told me, 'Well you know, sometimes seventh graders will just do that to you.' the parent said. And I'm like, uh, it's the fifth day of school, and school hasn't even started yet. What was in your coffee?
