SAN ANTONIO -- Authorities have arrested Jeffrey Brian Spaulding in connection with Bexar County's latest murder.

They saythe 37-year-old suspectstrangled his former roommate, 49-year-oldTed Wildberger, with electrical wire and alsostabbed him numerous times.

Witnesses told police they saw a tall thin man loading up a U-Haul at the victim's home on February 5.

Investigators determined that Wildberger's credit card was used to pay for therental of the U-Haul, and they identified Spaulding as the man who was renting the truck.

That led them to Spaulding's home where they say they found several of the victim's belongings.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office says the suspect has an extensive criminal records that included charges of theft, false imprisonment, assault, drugs and robbery across four states. They say he also served in the Texas Department of Corrections for felony drug charges.

Spaulding's bond has been set at $250,000.
