After hitting nearly a dozen stores in small towns across southeast Texas two robbers have collected about $45,000 in loot. Now police around Guadalupe County are on the lookout for the suspects who don't seem to do much to disguise their MO.
Seguin police say they have hit 11 convenience stores in several small towns like Seguin, Marion, New Braunfels, Lulling, Lockhart, and Schertz.
Seguin police know it s the same guys. Most of the stores have video evidence. And authorities claim the thieves usually break-in the same way and do the same thing.
Seguin Detective Jaime Diaz said, We believe it s the same individuals because of the MO that they use: They re in and out within 2 or 3 minutes. They re wearing sometimes almost the same clothes, same type of mask, same type of caps that they re wearing.
The thieves even use the same blue bag and hit about 2 or 3 stores a night at around 3 in the morning, investigators claim.
They allegedly hit 3 stores Wednesday in Sequin, Lockhart and Lulling, making off with $400 in cash and $5,000-worth of cigarettes probably to resell at flea markets.
They re getting away with a lot of cartons of cigarettes. That s one of the most expensive things they re getting away with is the cigarettes, Diaz said. We re hoping they re selling out there somewhere and somebody sees them.
