A serious miscalculation sent a man smashing into a Valero station Wednesday morning, and another miscalculation had the suspect fleeing on foot.

Authorities said the man was driving a dark-colored Honda CRV down Ridge Country at around 11 a.m. when a sharp turn sent him crashing into a Valero store at Wetmore and Ridge Country, leaving a 10-feet-by-10-feet hole in the building in his wake.

Local authorities are looking for the suspect they described as a 25 or 26-year-old black male, weighing approximately 145 pounds.

The suspect's vehicle knocked over a freezer near some wiring, police said. The store was closed at the time, but the power was shut off as a precaution. Damages have been estimated at $10,000.

No injuries were reported.
