SANANTONIO -- San Antonio police are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a TMIstudent.

Officers responded to a possible sexual assault. When they arrived they contacted our victim who is 14-years of age. She did have some bruising on her legs. She was missing her shoes and her cell phone, said Officer Matt Porter, spokesman for the San Antonio Police Department.

Under law, police can't release sensitive information concerning any alleged sexual assault of a minor.

Sources tell KENS 5 a teacher found the injured and shoeless young girl. She was reportedly brought to a school nurse on the TMIcampus, whom she told that she had been sexually assaulted.

Porter said, On the day the report was made the victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Detectives from SAPD found cuts and bruises to the teenager s legs, but they won t say anything more about the injuries. The incident was reported last Friday, just before 2 p.m.

Texas Military Institute made the following statement by email:

TMI-The Episcopal School of Texas is aware of an incident on September 14, 2012, involving one of its students. The incident did not take place on campus. The student s parents and authorities were notified. Both to respect the privacy of the family and because there is an ongoing investigation by the San Antonio Police Department, we cannot comment further. TMI takes very seriously the safety of all students and others and, therefore, maintains a high level of security at all times.

TMI touts itself as the oldest Episcopal college prep school in the southwest. Its website says the private school provides an education to 400 boys and girls from sixth to 12th grade.

At this point, detectives are still trying to piece together what transpired on this case that s still under investigation, said Porter.
