The NBA is finding big success in small markets during these playoffs.

The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder are locked in a thrilling Western Conference finals that is drawing some of TNT's highest ratings ever. And the Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies have also enjoyed deep, compelling runs in the last two years.

The issue of small-market teams figured prominently in the recent negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement, with some owners pushing for more revenue sharing to compete with the likes of the Knicks, Lakers and Bulls.

Commissioner David Stern says he hopes the league will one day get to the point where it is no longer an issue, much like the NFL. He hopes this is a sign that day is getting closer.
