Allergies even worse this year? San Antonio was recently listed as the ninth worst city for allergy sufferers in a study published by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

The Alamo City was previously ranked 42, but jumped so many spots from last year because of a skyrocketing pollen. Achoo!

According to the study, San Antonio had an allergy score of 84.41 out of 100 -- a number determined by combining pollen scores, number of allergy medications used per patient and the number of allergy specialists per patient.

The study shows the number of board certified allergists is below average while medical utilization of allergy drugs is above average.

San Antonio is sneezy, but not as bad as Knoxville, Tenn., which was listed as the worst metro area for allergies followed by McAllen, Texas; Louisville, Ky.; Jackson, Miss.; and Wichita, Kan.

See how other cities stacked up.
