SCHERTZ Officials in Schertz say they're working overtime to seal a deal with online retail giant

If all goes well, Gwin said he should be able to make an announcement in the next two weeks. He said construction would begin soon after the deal is finalized. would like to build on a 96-acre parcel in the Verde Enterprise Business Park just off I-35 and Schertz Parkway. The 1.2 million-square-foot warehouse is expected to cost $116 million to build.

City officials agreed with that the distribution center would bring at least 350 full-time jobs with benefits. They estimate the jobs will pay around $15 an hour, with an annual payroll around $11 million a year.

Gwin said the City of Schertz and Guadalupe County offered a $500,000 rebate for various fees and tax incentives.
