SAN ANTONIO -- A man was stabbed in the back near a west-side elementary school late Monday night.

According to San Antonio police investigators, a man in his 20s was walking past Christian Evers Elementary School when he was jumped by four males and stabbed.

The incident happened around 10:45 p.m. in the 2500 block of Turquoise Way.

Police said the victim ran to his sister's house and was later transported to University Hospital in stable condition. He was released Tuesday morning.

The suspects fled the scene on foot.
