Redus was shot and killed early-Friday morning during a traffic stop, after police said he attacked the responding officer near the Treehouse Apartments off Broadway Street.

Corporal Chris Carter shot the 23-year-old student several times because he feared for his life, according to the Alamo Heights Police Department.

Everyone I know loved him, UIW student-body president, Jonathan Guajardo, said. He was just a really, really, special person.
