San Antonio police say a Mississippi woman drove through a red light on Braun Road at Loop 1604 causing anothercar to plow into the passenger's side of her vehicle.
Her passenger was critically injured. Now, the Hattisburg woman is being held criminally responsible.
Heather Leighhow has been charged with intoxication assault.
According to a San Antonio police report, the 29-year-old smelled strongly of alcohol and didn't even realize she had a female passenger in her vehicle.
The accident call came in around 2:30 a.m. A police report says three people weredriving through the green light north on Loop 1604 at Braun Road when Leighhow's Chevy Camaro ran the red light.
Investigators say the Chevy Impala that had the right of way t-boned the Camaro. The accident report says a 30-year-old man, a 23-year-old mother, and her 9 month-old daughter were inside. Police say they sustained minor injuries.
However, the 29-year-old passenger in Leighhow's car was taken by AirLife to University Hospital.
The report says the suspected drunk driver admitted to having two drinks. Her mandatory blood alcohol results are pending.
