A San Antonio death row inmate was executed Wednesday evening for the rape and murder of a local woman he found waiting at a bus stop in 2001.

Ramon Hernandez was convicted of kidnapping, raping and murdering 37-year-old Rosa Rosado. While in prison, he was also linked to two other murders.

Detectives used DNA testing to connect Harnandez to the 1994 rape and murder of 13-year-old Sarah Gonzales and 12-year-old Priscilla Lamares after their bodies were found at Rodriguez Park.

I constantly said God, may your will be done, said Brenda Ayala.

Ayala is the older sister of Lamares and cousin of Gonzales. She attended the execution in honor of the two girls but still didn t get much closure on Wednesday evening.

I ve never had to see someone die, so it did affect me and made me sad -- having to see that. Even more death, Ayala said.

Prison officials said Hernandez directed his last words to his own family and never addressed his victims or offered an apology.

We were very disappointed, Ayala said. We thought maybe finally before his death he would apologize but he didn t seem to have any remorse whatsoever, Ayala said.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at 6:38 p.m.
