The mansuspected of killing two women ina triple-stabbing last Thursday has now been criminally charged.
Jail records show that even while Corey Hiller continuesto heal in his hospital bed after a traffic incident, he was charged over the weekend with capital murder of multiple persons.
The 36-year-old was charged byproxy in connection with the stabbingsthat happened in the 4500 block of Emil.
According to the arrest warrant, he stabbed Rhonda Hammonds, her 11-year-old son and Hammond's friend Casey Sweetwood. Hammonds and Sweetwood did not survive.
Police said witnesses, including two of the victims, placed Hiller at the scene of the crime. According to the arrest document, Sweetwood and Hammonds' son both said, Corey did it.
Investigators said Hammonds and her son were found in the rear of the home she rented with multiple stab wound and possible blunt force trauma to the head.
Sweetwood collapsed after begging the home's owner not to let Hammonds' son go the rear of the home. The 48-year-old died at the hospital that morning.
The warrant states that the 11-year-old boy, who survived the attack, was found on a back porch asking for help. An officer said that after the boyimplicated Hiller, heasked if he could go to sleep. They said the young victim fell unconscious. He was taken by medical helicopter to University Hospital.
Hiller will be transferred to the Bexar County Detention Center when he recovers from his wounds. He reportedly ran in front of a truck on the highway as he tried to get away from police on the day of the murders.
His bond is set at $1 million.
