SAN ANTONIO -- Police have arrested a man suspected of killing a popular barber more than five years ago on the city's east side.

Joseph Williams, 37, was arrested Wednesday and is being held at Bexar County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond, court records show.

San Antonio police issued a warrant for Williams' arrest in mid-December 2006. He was wanted for gunning down Charles Ray Scallion on Dec. 1, 2006 outside Santa's Place in the 400 block of Spriggsdale.

Investigators said the two accidentally bumped shoulders as the bar was closing. That led to an argument, which ended with Williams fetching a gun from his vehicle and shooting Scallion in his chest.
