SANANTONIO-- A man who police say attacked a woman at a gas station and tried to steal her car is now in custody.

Authorities say the suspect under arrest has been in trouble with the law before.

The ordeal started at around 7 a.m. Wednesday when a woman was filling up her car with gas in the 8200 block of Marbach Road.

She told police a man approached her and forced open her door, punching her and demanding her keys.

She tried to fend him off, but she says he grabbed the keys and ran away.

Police say another man at the gas station chased down the suspect and held him until a Northside ISD officer showed up and put 21-year-old Cesar Rafael Zuniga in handcuffs.

When police arrived, the victim said they had the right guy.

Zuniga has a criminal history that includes burglary of a vehicle and criminal mischief.

Authorities say he is actually awaiting trial on charges of possession of a controlled substance. Now Zuniga will be charged with robbery with bodily injury.

While police say they generally don't advise people to fight back or chase down suspects and get involved, today, it worked out OK.
