AUSTIN -- According to an report, longtime University of Texas football coach Mack Brown will step down.

The report sites two high-level sources and says Mack's expected to make the announcement by the end of the week.

However, according to KVUE's news partner the Austin American-Statesman, a well-placed UTsource told them, Brown has not told anyone that he s stepping down.

ESPN confirmed that as well, saying the university denied the report concerning Brown leaving.

The UT Board of Regents is scheduled to meet Thursday at a time when Regent Wallace Hall faces impeachment over accusations that he misused his office in an attempt to force out President Bill Powers.

Powers' employment is on Thursday's agenda. He's led the university since 2006.
