A woman is fighting to stay alive after being run over by another woman outside a northside bar.
Police say a disturbance broke out in the parking lot of the Crazy Ape Lounge on Ramsey and San Pedro just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the police report, 29-year-old Gwendolen Cameron was involved in a confrontation with 24-year-old Jennifer Cates. Cameron said when she tried to leave the scene, a friend of Cates jumped on the hood of her car, but then jumped off again.
Cameron told police she was afraid she would be attacked, and tried to take off. But, as she did so, Cates jumped in front of her vehicle.

Cameron said she tried to stop her car, but ended up hitting Cates and trapping her under the vehicle.
Police say a bystander tried to use a car jack to rescue Cates, but firefighters had to finally lift the car off of her.
Cates is in critical condition at University Hospital.

The driver has not been charged because the incident is still under investigation.
