A man visiting San Antonio for Thanksgiving says close to $500 in personal belongings was stolen from his truck outside a Leon Valley restaurant.

Management at the Hacienda Vallarta Mexican Buffet at 7200 Bandera Road gave KENS 5 surveillance video of the suspect, who can be seen entering the restaurant then breaking into the truck before leaving the parking lot in a red Ford Taurus.

They say the man had stopped in at the restaurant to see if there were any job openings.

I feel bad about it because I have family here, but having incidents like that happen to people like myself, it kind of hurts really, said Bob Martinez, who moved from San Antonio to Oklahoma City more than 20 years ago.

Martinez says the man stole his truck radio, his luggage and a briefcase with sensitive disability paperwork.

Martinez is a Vietnam, Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom veteran who is currently applying for full disability.

I guess I'd put in at least 40-50 hours on it at my house in Oklahoma City, said Martinez, who now must restart the process of filling out the paperwork.

Surveillance video shows the suspect walk into the restaurant at 2:27 p.m. Monday. Three minutes later he finishes stealing Martinez's belongings and flees in his car.

The manager at Hacienda Vallarta says they recorded the same man entering the restaurant then breaking into an employee's car three weeks ago.
