SAN ANTONIO -- A former local television news anchor has been arrested and charged with prescription fraud.
Karen Gallagher is accused of stealing a bottle of painkillers from someone's home, but authorities say what she did after thatis whatlanded her in jail.
The arrest warrant says the victim noticed her bottle of hydrocodone was missing out of her medicine cabinet during a party. She said Karen Gallagher, a former news anchor who worked in the San Antonio market in the '80s and '90s, was one of the guests.
Local police say a few daysafter the partythe victim got a call from her pharmacy notifying her of a refill.
The affidavit says Gallagher phoned in the prescription refill and is seen on surveillance video picking up the prescription.
