SAN ANTONIO -- Authorities are investigating the death of a 5-year-old boy on the southeast side.
SAPD officers at the scene in the 3900 block of Gayle Ave. Thursday afternoon said the circumstances surrounding the child's death seem suspicious.
An adult made the initial call to 911 at around 2 p.m. Thursday, saying the child was unresponsive.
The child's body appeared thin and had several injuries in various stages of healing, investigators said.
Police interviewed adults who were inside the home at the time of the child's death.
Authorities said two other children also at the home appeared to be fine, but the situation is being monitored by Child Protective Services.
