An 18-wheeler went off a bridge around 7:30 p.m. Monday at SE Loop 410 at Southcross, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.
The 18-wheeler was headed northbound on Loop 410 at the Southcross intersection when a Dodge Durango went underneath and was dragged by the rig, officials said.
The 18-wheeler then flipped off the bridge while the Durango stayed on the highway. Both vehicles caught fire.
Hazmat responded for a fuel spill, officials said. Chopper video indicates the truck fell to a lower level of the bridge area.
Southbound lanes of Loop 410 are closed in the area as well as New Sulpher Springs Road but northbound lanes remain open.
The semi-driver was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center while the Durango driver was taken to another area hospital, officials said. There condition was unknown.
