SAN ANTONIO -- A local man is recovering at University Hospital after being hit by a truck early Saturday morning.

The incident happened on Jerome Road and Highway 90, just after 1 a.m.

Police said a man in his 50s was attempting to cross the highway when he was stuck by a vehicle. The man was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Witnesses at the scene said they saw two vehicles at the time of the accident -- a truck and a red Ford Mustang -- and weren't sure which had hit the man.

Investigators recovered pieces from a white Ford F-150 at the scene, leading officers to believe the victim was hit by a truck, according to SAPD. Police are looking for the drivers of both vehicles.

So far, police have made no arrests.
