If your kids play golf for a Northside ISD school, parents say there is a handicap involved because NISD doesn't provide transportation. So, the parents have to provide the rides. That, they say, has led to all kinds of off-the-course hazards.

We lost control and the tires were turning, said student Jordan Lyons.

A ride from Warren High School to golf class ended with a crashfor Jordan Lyons and his classmate. They lost control and crashed during Thursday's downpour.

His mom, Jennifer Ybarra, said it could have been worse. Sheand other golf parents are now trying to prevent another situation like this from happening.

We would like to see the school provide a bus so that they can get to practice safe, Ybarras aid.

But there's a problem.

The school doesn't provide transportation for golf, they told us, because of funds, Ybarra said.

The students who have signed up for golf have to find a ride or carpool from WarrenHighSchool to the Golf Club of Texas. It's anine-mile drive.

I think it's ridiculous, said one student.

NISD said there's just no funding to provide transportation.

It is a funding issue, and it will come out of the golf budget, but unfortunately those budgets are really tight, said Pascual Gonzalez with NISD.

In the meantime, parenst are having to meet with the principal to find a solution. NISD said if there is a solution, it won't come until next year.
