When UTSA track and field star Richard Garrett Jr. won the WAC Championship in shot put, he broke his own record by nearly three feet.
"I play off the crowd. I play off my teammates," Garrett said. "And when everybody else is there, hyping me up - when it's actually time to put it to the pavement—that's what gets me hyped."
Now he'll make a run at the indoor NCAA national championship Friday in Arkansas.
KENS 5's Vinnie Vinzetta has the story.
