The play of the year in college football happened at TLU in Seguin

Most people are surprised to hear that Texas Lutheran University in Seguin has a football team. They do! The Bulldogs play in Division III's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Bulldogs are getting national attention for a ridiculous play that happened in their Saturday game against Belhaven University.

TLU kicker Tyler Hopkins attempted a field goal only to have it blocked. But as the ball bounced in front of him, he wound up and kicked the ball through the uprights for three points!

As Yahoo Sports notes, the play probably shouldn't have been allowed to stand since, at the point that the kick was blocked, it would've been a loose ball making any ensuing kick an illegal one.

But come on...

It's great to see something crazy happen on the field and not let the rules get in the way of a good thing.

Hopkins will surely be talking about this kick for the rest of his life.
