Alamodome begins countdown to hosting 2018 Final Four

As soon as the final buzzer sounded on North Carolina's national championship win in Arizona, the countdown started at the Alamodome.

San Antonio is pumped, once again, to host the Final Four. The national semifinals and national championship games are set for March 31 and April 2 next year.

The Alamodome released a video promoting the event once the season officially ended.

San Antonio has hosted the Final Four on three previous occasions, all at the Alamodome, and each has had its own memorable moments.

In 1998, Kentucky needed overtime to beat Stanford before they would go on to beat Utah in the title game.

In 2004, Texas native Emeka Okafor led the UConn Huskies to an upset win over Duke in the semifinals before closing it out against Georgia Tech for the championship.

But nothing tops the 2008 Final Four and "Mario's Miracle," when Mario Chalmers hit a three-pointer to send the championship game into overtime, where Kansas would beat Memphis.

So what will happen when the Final Four returns to the Alamodome in 2018? Go to FinalFourSanAntonio.com and you can be there to find out.
